“Vietnam has integrated! Why don’t we teach each other HOW to integrate? Why don’t we learn how to integrate? Why don’t we support how to integrate? Why do we oppose integration and integration models? Parents and teachers should not turn themselves into “dictators”. Vietnamese education needs to change to keep up with the times…” That was the sharing of expert, doctor Nguyen Duy Cuong – a leading expert in Vietnam in the field of personal development and exploring human potential in a training session for lecturers and staff of Dai Nam University on the morning of September 7.

The young generation is a copy of their parents and teachers.
Expert, Doctor Nguyen Duy Cuong shared at the Training session for lecturers and staff for the 2018-2019 school year of Dai Nam University on the morning of September 7, 2018.
Sharing at the 2018-2019 academic year training session of Dai Nam University on the morning of September 7, expert, doctor Nguyen Duy Cuong said: “Students are copies of lecturers. What kind of educational method will create such products”.
According to experts, Vietnam's education system has not yet "escaped" the traditional teaching method of "teacher reads, student copies". University education in Vietnam in general is still heavily dogmatic and imposed. The result is the training of generations of citizens who lack practical skills, do not have creative thinking, and do not meet the real needs of society. The proof is that the rate of graduates who cannot find jobs, especially jobs in their majors, is very high.
With the imposition-oriented education and teaching by “passing the message”, parents and teachers turn themselves into “dictators”, creating generations of copycat citizens. With the huge amount of information and knowledge, the increasingly high demand for human resources in the process of international integration, the teaching and learning method of “teacher reads, student copies” is no longer suitable. Young people need proactive and scientific approaches to knowledge…”, expert Nguyen Duy Cuong emphasized.
University Education needs to “CHANGE” to keep up with the times
In reality, teachers and lecturers who are “interested” in the reading and copying teaching method are all people who are not good at their profession and are not passionate about the career of educating people. Traditional teaching methods stunt both teachers and students. Teachers gradually become “teaching machines”. Students are passive, only know how to absorb knowledge in one direction, do not use their brains to think, do not know how to acquire knowledge, gradually become stunted in thinking, cannot apply knowledge to life and the inevitable result is being eliminated.

According to Mr. Cuong, in order to avoid continuing to create “educational errors”, parents and teachers need to seriously reconsider their educational methods. Young people need to be respected and trained with respect; develop university education in an interactive, proactive direction, prioritizing the development of the soul, mind and body. The ultimate goal is to form a positive attitude, extensive knowledge and good skills for students.
Expert Nguyen Duy Cuong affirmed: “CHANGE is the only way to keep up with the times. Vietnam has integrated! Why don’t we teach each other HOW to integrate? Why don’t we learn how to integrate? Why don’t we support the way of integration? Why do we oppose integration and integration models? University training is to train high-quality human resources for the country. University products must not only meet domestic recruitment requirements but also meet international recruitment requirements. To do that, there is no better way than CHANGE, linking training with reality…”

Speaking at the training session, Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice Principal of Dai Nam University highly appreciated the sharing of expert, doctor Nguyen Duy Cuong and affirmed that this is also the "educational philosophy" that the school pursues. To improve the quality of training, the lecturers of Dai Nam University always strive to study, research and improve their professional knowledge; explore and apply modern teaching methods; enhance the interaction between teachers and students, creating conditions for students to promote their initiative and creativity in learning... Dai Nam University is the first university in Vietnam to open a 3-star hotel for students majoring in Tourism to practice; has a standard laboratory for Pharmacy and Nursing students to practice; supports employment and access to businesses for students after graduation...
With the motto of "learning to change" , training closely linked to practice, training high-quality human resources for society, Dai Nam University has trained many generations of excellent students (more than 90% of students have jobs in their major after graduation), becoming a prestigious and quality training address trusted and chosen by students and parents across the country.
