Bring smiles to children with cancer

In the chilly weather on a weekend, the Pediatrics Department, K3 Hospital - Tan Trieu (Hanoi) suddenly became more bustling and exciting than usual. The whole department was organizing an exchange program between the pediatric patients. There was no longer the sound of crying in pain but laughter and singing; the bald children, with IV tubes still dangling from their arms, enthusiastically participated in fun activities and music.

Most of the children with cancer being treated here come from families with difficult circumstances. Carrying a terrible disease, these children often have to live in the hospital with a death sentence hanging over their heads. The disease is incurable, all medicine can do is prolong the lives of these little creatures.

Adults with cancer are miserable, children are even more miserable, often not being able to save them but only prolonging their lives. Adults can endure pain but children are different, they cry a lot because of pain. Understanding the pain of children, the Faculty of Business Administration, Dai Nam University organized a program called "Catching the Word".

It is known that this idea comes from the very honest confidences of Trung (12 years old) from Hung Yen. Trung was hospitalized 3 weeks ago because of bladder cancer. Trung is a smart and cheerful boy. Trung said: "I really like puzzles. I often quiz my friends or play catch-the-word game like on TV. We have a lot of fun playing."

After the program, the Organizing Team felt more motivated and hopes to create more programs to encourage the children!
