Training associated with practical experience at enterprises to foster and improve the qualifications of staff and lecturers; expanding opportunities for practical access, practice, internship and employment opportunities for students is the training policy of Dai Nam University (DNU). To implement that policy, recently, the Faculty of Logistics and Supply Chain Management organized a practical experience program at HTM Logistcs Warehouse Center of Vidifi Duyen Hai Joint Stock Company and Hai Phong Port International Container Terminal (TC-HICT) for staff, lecturers and students.

Dr. Le Thi My Ngoc - Head of Logistics and Supply Chain Management Department thanks businesses.

Both of the above enterprises are strategic partners of the Faculty of Logistics and Supply Chain Management of Dai Nam University; coordinate practical training for students through experiential activities, practice, and internships at enterprises; cooperate in career guidance and recruitment activities.

Teachers and students of the Faculty of Logistics presented flowers to thank Mr. Dao Manh Dang - Director of HTM Logistics Center.

At HTM Logistics Center of Vidifi Duyen Hai Joint Stock Company, DNU Logistics teachers and students learned about the types of warehouses in HTM Logistics' warehouse center, such as: CFS warehouse, bonded warehouse, tax-free warehouse, cold storage, warehouse for export processing enterprises...; the effects of warehouse types and the significance of warehouses participating in import and export activities; types of documents related to import and export activities, customs procedures, import and export processes, etc.

Through practical activities at enterprises, officers, lecturers and students of the Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management of DNU are provided with basic and in-depth knowledge of warehouse operations such as: Process of exploiting export and import goods at CFS warehouse and situations arising during the process of exploiting goods in the warehouse.

“This is extremely useful and valuable practical knowledge for both teachers and students. If there were only in the classroom, without such practical experience activities, teachers and students would not be able to grasp it to teach and learn in a practical way…” , Dr. Le Thi My Ngoc shared.

The next destination on the journey is Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal (TC-HICT) under Saigon Newport Corporation. This is the first deep-water seaport in the Northern region, playing a particularly important role in the Vietnamese seaport system, contributing to bringing import and export goods of the Northern region as well as the whole country directly to the European and American markets; TOP 20 largest ports in the world.

Here, teachers and students listened to businesses share about how to operate stages in seaport operations, related procedures, ... as well as practical problems encountered when working so that students have the most intuitive perspective on the current status of the Logistics industry. At the same time, DNUERS learned about the process of handling import and export goods at the Port, and saw with their own eyes the cranes and forklifts that lower and lower goods onto ships.

Mr. Duong Quoc Vuong - lecturer of Logistics and Supply Chain Management said: “Logistics and Supply Chain Management is a profession that is constantly moving and changing. If we do not learn, experience and connect with the reality of business operations, the lectures in class will certainly become empty and outdated. This trip has helped me have a more comprehensive view of the business, the process of exporting and importing goods in the warehouse and outside the port; from there, I can apply it to the lectures, helping students have a practical, close view and a better understanding of Logistics and the business operation process”.

Tran Huy Dat - a student of Logistics class 17-01 shared: “The trip helped me have a clearer view of the career, working environment, and recruitment criteria of the business. From there, I further developed my love for Logistics and Supply Chain Management, built a plan and roadmap to strive to have a good job after graduation and become a good citizen. I hope the Faculty and the School will organize more useful practical experience trips like this”.
