As a new student, you must still feel very unfamiliar and confused when entering a new learning environment, leaving your family for the first time, starting an independent life in a strange city. I understand that feeling of loss and confusion better than anyone because I myself have experienced it. Hopefully, the "bloody" experiences drawn from 3 years of "wearing out my pants" at DNU will help you new students to be less confused and quickly integrate into the new learning environment.

Prepare good health

The first “bloody” experience I want to share with new students is to prepare your health well. This is a prerequisite for you to start your journey of studying and experiencing at university. You need to learn how to take care of yourself from eating, sleeping to your daily activities because at this time you no longer have your parents around to take care of you and remind you. Get into the habit of daily physical exercise along with a reasonable diet and rest so that every morning when you wake up you always feel full of energy. To do that, you need to have a specific plan and be determined to carry it out to the end, absolutely do not “map it out and then leave it there”!

New students need to practice daily physical exercise habits.

Have clear methods and goals

Studying at university is not difficult but it is not simple either. To study and still be able to play, you need to have a method and clearly define your goals. Stop the passive learning style of "teacher reads, student copies" in high school! When you go to university, you have to study by yourself, research and study documents to accumulate knowledge for yourself; teachers are only guides and orienters. If you do not study by yourself, no one can study for you. The length of time you spend in university is up to you to decide.

Passing a course and “hunting” for a scholarship at university is not difficult. As long as you have determination and make an effort to carry out that determination to the end, you will definitely achieve it.

Don't be afraid to share and connect

At DNU, teachers are like our second fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters, always ready to guide, share and help students in any situation. Therefore, when you encounter difficulties in studying and life, do not hesitate to share with your teachers to receive useful advice and the most active help!

Don't be afraid to share and connect.
Besides, you should open your heart, make more new friends to support each other in studying and life. Who knows, you might find your other half. If you keep quiet, don’t ask why student life is not interesting, why DNU doesn’t give out lovers!

Don't bring cheat sheets into the exam room.

Another “hard-won” lesson I want to share and warn new students is to never foolishly bring “cheat sheets” into the exam room or look closely at your friends’ papers because our school’s invigilators are extremely strict, and if you deviate, you will be “tortured” immediately.

Try staying in a dormitory once

If you are studying at Phu Lam campus, don't hesitate to register for a slot in the school's dormitory, even if it's just for one semester! Staying in the dormitory, you will save money on rent, have convenience in going to class and will discover many interesting things that only student life in the dormitory has.

Stop abusing your smartphone

Give up your smartphone-attached life and try reading books, newspapers, stories or find some healthy entertainment. No one wants to talk to someone who is always glued to their phone from the first meeting.

Participate in extracurricular activities

Participating in extracurricular activities helps students expand their relationships and practice social skills.
To make student life more interesting and meaningful, you should participate in extracurricular activities of the school, board games, clubs, volunteer student teams to find necessary skills, make more friends, express yourself and especially leave a mark on your youth. But don't neglect your studies because of that!

Go to work

Right from the first year, you can work part-time, or learn foreign languages and life skills at centers, but you need to research carefully and consult with teachers and seniors to avoid being scammed or involved in multi-level marketing.

Don't "spend too much"

At the beginning of the month, when your parents send you money, you need to clearly outline the expenses for the month and try to spend according to the plan to avoid running out of money before the end of the month. Quickly “buy” yourself a cute ATM card and keep the “chains” in it, tighten your spending, and only withdraw a small amount when necessary. To be honest, sometimes I feel “itchy” when I leave cash outside.

Besides, you can save money by choosing to stay in dormitories, choosing to rent affordable accommodation, cooking for yourself if staying outside, using public transport, bicycles, electric bicycles to get around...

Check in and live virtual

Our school is a virtual check-in place that can be called "wonderful". Each season has a different type of flower, from the school gate to the Pharmacy practice area, everywhere are virtual check-in corners where you can freely pose. Let the footsteps pass by and the images stay...

Seize the opportunity

Don't be afraid that you can't do it and miss out on opportunities because in life opportunities don't always come to you. Stand up and grab it. Don't be lazy, go out and challenge yourself.

Failure is the mother of success

If you stumble, get up and move on. And remember “failure is the mother of success”, “the road to success has no footprints of laziness”. Chaizooo!

Keep trying and believe in yourself

4-5 years of accumulating knowledge and experience is not enough, you also need effort and "strong" belief in yourself.

It's a long story, so let's experience it gradually and draw conclusions for ourselves!!!!!! I wish you all good study and GRADUATE ON TIME!

Best regards, victory!
