MSc. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan – Faculty of Accounting
Applying and stimulating the brain's working mechanism in teaching and learning by MIND MAPS is one of the modern and advanced applications in education today. To concretize the introduction of the teaching and learning method by mind maps to all lecturers, on December 28 and 30, 2015, the Accounting Department of Dai Nam University invited Ms. Nguyen Huong Thuy - Chief Accountant of QSoft Vietnam Software Company - lecturer of TOPICA program to work and discuss with all lecturers of the Accounting Department about the diagram learning method through the lecture "teaching and learning method by Mind Map - Mind map" very lively and useful.
Currently, the learning methodologies that have brought us success in the past are facing many challenges. If information is considered as input factors, and knowledge, skills, and work attitudes are output factors, then the “black box” or “microprocessor” is our brain. Therefore, in order to turn the policy of the Board of Directors and the Board of Directors of Dai Nam University on “Innovation in teaching and learning methods, improving training quality” into reality, the staff and lecturers of the Faculty of Accounting have always boldly applied a number of modern and advanced teaching methods to the teaching process.
The teaching and learning method using Mind Maps is no longer strange to students. However, in order for students to use this method scientifically and effectively, teachers play an important role in transmitting knowledge, guiding students to be creative and bring about the best learning results.
All lecturers of the Faculty of Accounting attended the class in full.
Ms. Nguyen Huong Thuy discussed with teachers about teaching and learning methods using mind maps.
Through the lecture on teaching and learning method using Mind Map, the Faculty leaders and all lecturers in the Faculty highly appreciated this new method for the following reasons: Along with the development of the times, the important measure for the creativity of each person in the knowledge economy is the speed of thinking, the ability to transform information into knowledge to create value, create products and services. The young generation of Vietnam, the "international citizens of the integration era" are having the opportunity to use the miraculous achievements of the times, computers and the Internet, to integrate and develop in the same world that is always moving and changing every second.
Benefits of Mindmap:
· Study - work: Learners remember 100% of the information after studying, reduce workload, feel comfortable when studying, reviewing lessons and taking tests. In addition, create confidence in the learner's learning ability.
· Connecting - creating: Get a holistic, comprehensive view, understand the connections between information, analyze, and creatively solve problems in many better ways.
· Increase concentration: Focus on work for better results. Use all thinking skills to focus attention.
Teachers practice the Mind Map method together
With only two short lessons, Ms. Thuy helped the teachers of the Accounting Department have a comprehensive view and practical benefits of the "Mind Map" learning method. Mind maps are a learning method that is no longer strange to students today, but how to use that method most effectively in the learning process of students requires the support of teachers and creativity and effort from students. With the teaching and learning method using " Mind Maps ", the collective of lecturers of the Accounting Department hopes to connect what they have just learned with what they already know to enrich the practical and creative abilities of teachers and students in the teaching and learning process of DNUers.
