Along with the school's series of activities on green living, the Faculty of Foreign Languages chose the theme of the contest: "Let's go green". With the theme of the environment, DNU students will have theatrical performances, Q&A, eloquence, and debate on topics related to the environment, in order to contribute to conveying to listeners positive messages of joining hands to protect the environment, contributing to changing the awareness of young people - the generation holding the key to the future on issues that are of concern to society.

Etc: Organizing the English Olympic competition for the 2018 - 2019 school year

I. PURPOSE, MEANING

1. Purpose of practicing English skills

- Create opportunities for students to improve their English language skills and international integration skills;

- Encourage and motivate the English learning movement, contributing to building a "Foreign language learning community" among students of Dai Nam University;

- Establish a colorful picture of student talent and the English learning movement of students in the whole school.

2. Purpose of building public awareness about environmental protection.
Along with the school's series of activities on green living, the Faculty of Foreign Languages chose the theme of the contest : "Let's go green". With the theme of the environment, DNU students will have performances of dramatization, Q&A, eloquence, and debate on topics related to the environment, in order to contribute to conveying to listeners positive messages of joining hands to protect the environment, contributing to changing the awareness of young people - the generation holding the key to the future on issues that are of concern to society .

II. OBJECTS, TIME AND LOCATION

1. Subject:

Students of all faculties and majors in the whole school

2. Time and location:

- The contest consists of 3 rounds taking place from March to May 19, 2019.

- Round 1: Positioning: Selection and team formation

- Round 2: Difference: Video clip competition

- Round 3: Outstanding: School-wide final on May 19, 2019.

III. EXAM CONTENT

- Topic: Let's go green

- Content : test of knowledge, speaking skills, debate and eloquence in English on topics related to environmental protection.

- Language : English

IV. EXAM FORMAT

1. Round 1 – Positioning

- Each Faculty in Dai Nam University allows candidates to register to participate (minimum 1 team per faculty, maximum 03 teams). Each team consists of 08 members;

- The list of competing teams must be sent to the Organizing Committee (OC) before March 25, 2019.

- Location to receive the list of competing teams: soft copy sent to email address: nhiennt.dainam@gmail.com . Printed copy sent to the Office of the Faculty of Foreign Languages - Dai Nam University (4th Floor, Phu Lam Campus, Ha Dong)

2. Round 2 – Different

- Each team must make a Video clip introducing their team, faculty or school (DNU) in a creative way and showing their own team's colors. Video quality requirements and specific scoring criteria are described in the Competition Rules;

- Contest entries in the format nhiennt.dainam@gmail.com : before April 25, 2019 .

- The judging panel selects the 6 best teams to participate in round 3 - Final.

3. Round 3 – Outstanding

- Greeting part : Teams have a 5-minute performance introducing their team.

- Challenge Part : Teams must answer 15 questions in the form of choosing the correct answer A, B, or C. on the topic of environment.

- Debate Part : The Organizing Committee will send the final round teams the debate topics 3 days in advance. The teams will send 1-2 students to debate on the chosen topic. Students can prepare PPT to demonstrate their debate.

- Expected time: May 19, 2019

V. PRIZES
Final:

- 01 first prize : 5 million VND + Exemption from TOEIC exam as a final condition and all team members are counted as 450 points.

- 01 second prize : 03 million VND + Exemption from TOEIC exam as a final condition and all team members are counted as 450 points.

- 02 Third prizes : 01 million VND + Team members will get an additional 02/10 points for their English score at the end of this semester.

- 02 Consolation prizes : 500,000 VND + Team members will get an additional 02/10 points for their English score at the end of this semester.

- 01 Most favorite video clip prize voted online by the audience and scored by the jury: 03 million VND + Exemption from the TOEIC exam as a final condition and all team members are counted as 450 points.

VI. IMPLEMENTATION ORGANIZATION

- Faculty of Foreign Languages: Take charge of organizing the program, assign lecturers to provide professional support to the competing teams;

- Coordinating units: Media Department, Youth Union, and units in the school create conditions for students to complete the competition well.
