4 cases of corona virus infection, Hanoi proposes to declare Covid-19 epidemic
Accordingly, from the first Covid-19 case in Hanoi confirmed on March 6, patient NHN, female, 26 years old, address at 125 Truc Bach, Ba Dinh; to date, Hanoi has recorded 3 new cases.
Of these, 2 secondary infections were the driver who took patient N. from the airport to his home and his uncle who lived in the same house with patient N.
The fourth case is a 61-year-old male, who sat in row 5A with patient NHN.
To date, regarding the first Covid-19 case in Hanoi, epidemiological investigation has found 130 people in contact with N., and 226 people in contact with the contact person.
At Hong Ngoc Hospital, 20 people in close contact at the Central Tropical Hospital (f1) have been quarantined; 164 people in contact with close contacts (f2), of which 64 are outpatients quarantined at home; 60 are doctors and medical staff of the hospital quarantined in Long Bien; the remaining 40 doctors and medical staff are quarantined at the hospital.
Of these, 19 samples of doctors, nurses, and receptionists in close contact with patient N. have tested negative, while 1 sample is awaiting results.
Regarding flight VN0054 carrying patients back to the country, it was determined that there were 217 people on the flight, of which the destinations of 155/180 economy class passengers and 21/21 business class passengers have been verified. Of which, 60 people are staying in Hanoi.
According to the Director of the Hanoi Department of Health, the total number of passengers and crew on flight VN0054 was 217 people, only 2 cases were found positive for Covid-19, but there may be other positive cases on the flight.
By the end of March 7, the Hanoi health sector had tested 1,004/2,304 cases under centralized quarantine at military facilities and the City Police Hospital, and the remaining 1,300 samples were sent to the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology. All samples tested at the City Center for Disease Control were negative for Covid-19.
Given the developments of the epidemic in Hanoi, the City People's Committee requested the Ministry of Health to declare a Covid-19 epidemic in Hanoi.
