2022 Econometrics and Applied Economics Olympiad: Dai Nam University is the only non-public university to win the prize

The 7th National Student Science Competition “Econometrics and Applications Olympiad” hosted by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association and the Academy of Finance is held annually in May. Up to now, on average, each year there are about 300 students from 25-35 schools nationwide with about 120-150 topics.

The main theme of the competition is to build and apply econometric models to solve practical socio-economic problems. The research process requires the companionship of lecturers and the perseverance of students in the spirit of effective teamwork. The research practice will create a connection between lecturers and students and help students experience the serious practical scientific research process with high applicability. The competition is a playground for students to boldly present the results of initial applied research, not necessarily too perfect, but importantly, to increase students' confidence, encourage students to bring to the competition ideas and applied results for exchange and learning.

Following the success of previous seasons, this year the Contest attracted the participation of many Universities, Colleges and Academies across the country such as: Academy of Finance, Banking Academy, University of Commerce, University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Can Tho University, Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Law... with more than 129 competition topics. The 2022 research groups presented many updated topics with quality, creativity and created great attraction for students.

Outstanding students of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Dai Nam University, won awards

The jury awarded the Encouragement Prize to the group of students from the Faculty of Finance - Dai Nam University.

The Jury includes: Dr. Vo Tri Thanh; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Trong Co, Associate Professor Dr. Truong Thi Thuy and 07 other prestigious scholars. After scoring based on many criteria, the Jury announced the names of the student group: Hoang Phuong Thao, Tran Thanh Tam and Dinh Thi Quyen (TCNH class 13-01 - Dai Nam University) with the topic: "Predicting behavioral intention to use Digital Banking services in the context of Covid-19: Applying the PLS-SEM method" to the stage to receive the Encouragement Award. The topic was carried out under the meticulous guidance of Dr. Nguyen Hoang Nam, Head of the Faculty of Finance and Strategy Director of Lendbiz Finance Company and MSc. Nguyen Van Duy, Research Assistant of the Faculty of Finance.

Head of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Nam, is also a lecturer who directly guides students in scientific research.

In this year's exam season, Dai Nam University is the only non-public school to win a prize.

On the afternoon of June 12, comrade Nguyen Minh Triet - Secretary of the Central Youth Union and Dr. Vo Tri Thanh - Head of the Jury directly awarded prizes to the winning teams.
