10 years of "The Cake of Love" raised nearly 2 billion VND, bringing a loving Tet to the less fortunate

The traditional charity program "The cake of love" of Dai Nam University has entered its 10th year but is still expected by generations of students and teachers and has a profound influence in the community every time Tet comes.
10 years tirelessly wrapping meaningful cakes
The 10th year of the "Love Cake" program with the theme of Tet of love and Tet of sparrows.
With the mission of educating and developing a comprehensive human being, Dai Nam University always focuses on training professional knowledge, skills, foreign languages, information technology and perfecting the personality of students through meaningful movement activities. The school continuously organizes volunteer activities for the community to help young people love their fellow human beings, live responsibly towards society and country, and know how to share food and clothes with those less fortunate than themselves...
"The cake of love" is one of the volunteer activities that is full of such meanings.
“The cake of love” is one of the volunteer activities that has a profound influence in the social community of Dai Nam University.
Called “The Cake of Love” because these cakes are donated, wrapped, boiled and given to the less fortunate by the staff, lecturers and students of the school every Tet holiday.
They are the homeless elderly, without anyone to take care of them; the orphaned, homeless children; the patients with serious illnesses who cannot return home to celebrate Tet with their families; the wounded soldiers who sacrificed part of their blood and bones for the Fatherland; the disadvantaged people in society who pick up trash until New Year's Eve and then huddle on the porch, under the bridge waiting for dawn...
Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice Principal, together with soldiers and students, carefully and enthusiastically wrapped each banh chung to bring Tet to the less fortunate.
After 10 consecutive years of implementation, the "Banh Nghia Tinh" Program has mobilized thousands of cadres, lecturers and students to participate; raised nearly 2 billion VND; personally wrapped more than 20,000 banh chung, bringing Tet to tens of thousands of less fortunate people in society.
Great lessons worth cash
The happy smiles of teachers and students when they join hands to bring Tet to those less fortunate than themselves.
As usual, the program "Banh Nghia Tinh 2021" was organized within the framework of a banh chung wrapping competition between 16 faculties in the school and with the participation of soldiers of Brigade 26 - Air Defense - Air Force. In addition, the traditional Tet holiday space was also vividly recreated through sideline activities, such as: New Year's Eve meal competition, Mr. Do giving calligraphy; Wish Tree; Folk games... especially the 2021 Spring Greeting Gala program.
The banh chung cakes may be clumsy and not yet square, but they contain all the love and sharing that Dai Nam teachers and students wish to give.
Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice Principal, head of the program's organizing committee shared: "The value of the cake may not be great, but its spiritual value is extremely great. The school wants to convey the message to generations of students that their lives are full, they must know how to appreciate what they have, and at the same time, they must know how to share their love with the community and society..."
For generations of Dai Nam students, "The Cake of Love" is an extremely meaningful experience.
In the third year of participating in the program “Banh nghia tinh”, Lam Cuc Phuong – a student of K12, Faculty of PR and Media Management shared: “I am very proud and happy because the cakes made by my own hands will be given to people in difficult circumstances, helping them feel the warm atmosphere of Tet approaching…”
Soldiers of Brigade 26 accompany teachers and students of Dai Nam to bring Tet to everywhere.
Many students who did not know how to wrap banh chung at home, and had never experienced the feeling of “sitting around the red stove, watching banh chung waiting for the morning, their cheeks blushing” now know how to prepare ingredients, wrap banh chung skillfully and cook the banh chung on the right heat.
